Spectrum Bags' policy is to identify and actively develop diverse businesses, including vendors, contractors and consultants, as sources for purchasing goods and services. A qualified business enterprise is defined as a business that is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by Minority, Female, or Disabled persons. The goals of Spectrum’s diversity program are:
• To purchase goods and services from quality- and price-competitive suppliers owned by diverse group members.
• To assist diverse businesses in becoming competitive sources of supply through strategies such as mentoring, joint ventures, strategic alliances, vendor sub-contracting and/or financial assistance.
The Supplier Diversity program is a mutually beneficial effort for both Spectrum and diverse businesses. As Spectrum prospers, our goal is that these businesses will expand and prosper too. We measure the success of our Diversity program efforts not only by the size of our dollar commitment to diverse vendors, but also by the general benefits of our employees' commitment to help develop successful businesses. Employees involved in the selection, evaluation and/or approval of vendors, contractors and consultants have primary responsibility for effectively implementing this policy.
